Attendee Success Panel: Nashville Attendees Share their Stories

Dear Reader,

Maureen sells her photos to sailors on the dock.

Stan sells his in a furniture store.

Barbara got her photos published in a history book.

And Sarita sells hers at horse shows.

We heard these four stories and more from our attendee success panel at the Ultimate Money-Making Photo Workshop last week in Nashville, TN.

And what I love most about them -- aside from the fact that it means these folks have found success in different ways selling their photos -- is that none of the attendees who spoke are trained professional photographers. With different backgrounds and interests, they each take and sell photos in their spare time, making extra money doing what they love.

Income varies from person to person, of course. But people like Nashville instructors Shelly Perry, Rich Wagner, and Efrain Padro, make a good living at it... and you could, too.

You just have to get started.

Take professional photographer Efrain Padro, for instance. He’s a lawyer by training. Photography was his hobby. But then he moved to a different state... and decided that instead of passing the Bar again, he’d sell photos. Now he’s a full-time photographer, and loves it.

Travel stock photographer, Holger Mette, also began as a lawyer with a love of photography. One day he decided he wanted to travel the world and fund it through stock photo sales. Today, that’s what he does full time.

Shelly Perry was a social worker by training, until the emotionally-challenging days led her to pick up her camera again. And Rich Wagner worked in retail before he considered turning his photo hobby into an income that later helped him put all five of his daughters through college.

These guys aren’t doing anything you can’t learn to do. And our Nashville attendees are proof positive that you don’t need any fancy training or years of experience to get started and become a part of our attendee success panel.

Whatever it is that you know best -- horses, sailing, cooking, history, gardening -- you can make a living combining that with your photography.

So how do you get from where you are now to making an income in your spare time doing what you love?

Earlier this week, I promised you a collection of articles from our archives on photography for beginners. As soon as I’m finished pulling it together, I’ll send it to you. All you have to do is put your name on the list.

In addition, you’ll find a free report on our website about how and where to sell your photos.  Just go to www.thephotographerslife.com and click on “How to Sell Your Photos” in the Free Reports box on the bottom right.

Truth is, I wish everyone could afford to attend one of our live events because that’s where the majority of our success stories come from.

But I know meeting us in person isn’t always possible.

So if you missed us in Nashville this past week, you can still listen in with the Ultimate Money-Making Workshop-At-Home package. It’s the next best thing to being at the live event. And you’ll save $150 if you sign up to receive them before the recordings get back from editing in a few weeks.

And one more thing...

If I can make one recommendation before I sign off, it’s this: Just do it. Our most successful workshop attendees are almost never the ones that are the best photographers or artists. It’s always those that simply apply what they learn (in the way they’re taught) that find success.

So just get out there and do it.

Have a good rest of your weekend...

P.S. Are you more of a hands-on learner? If so, you should join BOTH professional photographers Efrain Padro and Rich Wagner in Puerto Rico this May and bump your travel photography up to the next level. There’s nothing like learning it as you go, with nearly a week of intensive photo instruction.

On our small-group Puerto Rico Photo Expedition, you’ll explore colorful, colonial Puerto Rico while you eat, sleep, and breathe photography... coming home with new, amazing photos to add to your portfolio and the know-how to shoot even more when you get back home. Details here.
