Memorial Day Travel Tip - #5: Get a better hotel rate

Dear Reader,
It’s Memorial Day weekend, and you know what that means... the summer travel season is just around the corner.
If you’re planning a trip this summer, you’ll want to keep this tip in
mind: Hotel rates tend to vary substantially, based on where you book.
Instead of relying solely on the hotel’s website, try a few different search engines like Kayak.com or Farecast.com. Often, you’ll find internet deals that aren’t advertised on the hotel’s homepage.
Also, don’t forget the tried and true phone call. Hotel reservations agents might offer you a special deal that you otherwise wouldn’t find over the Internet.
To put this travel tip to the test, we did a quick, in-office study.
