"I thought it was about time I told of my small success, thanks to Rich Wagner who's advice I took on starting local. First I took all these local photos and made post cards, as we have a fairly large tourist influx to this small town during our winter months (too hot to travel in summer) A friend who owns a local cafe sold them for me and would like more as there are none left. I work as a full time nurse and my boss asked me for pictures of the hospital for publication in a brochure, (for free of course )I was acknowledged as the photographer.A fund raising event asked if I would donate a photo to raffle and so raise funds which I did,this got me a sale and I won runner up in a competition. All small stuff by photographers standards but I am happy with my achievements so far, so thank you all for the invaluable help I have recieved."

I am slowly making my way through the course and am learning at every corner.

Kevin's portion on stock agencies was particularly helpful. I had just been
turned down twice by istock and was so discouraged I was ready to hang up my
camera. (Which is really unlike me.)

Unlike what he said in the piece, they did not even give me any reasons. His
experience with them was still so much like mine I felt better enough by the end
to try my hand at Dreamstime and had four photos accepted right away.

What a huge relief. I felt I got my $99 worth right there. Now on to keywording
:)
