The Breakfast Stock Club: An Introduction
Dear Reader,
Sixty-five people have now joined The Breakfast Stock Club on Facebook.
If you’re not on Facebook, don’t worry. I’m starting a Breakfast Stock Club newsletter next month when I’m in Paris. It’ll be free to join -- and it doesn’t matter if you’ve never sold your photos as stock.
Bonnie Caton here. I’ve never sold my photos as stock so that’s on my to-do list this year.
My first goal is just breakfast. I want to earn enough money selling my photos as stock to take a friend out to breakfast every month. Hence the name: The Breakfast Stock Club. (I was inspired by Lise Gagne’s story and how her first goal was to make just $20 a week. Now she earns over $200,000 a year.)
So that’s what this Facebook page is all about. We’re a group of people who want to sell our photos as stock. And we’re using Facebook to encourage each other... report on our progress... share tips on what’s working and what’s not... and push each other along.
But I’d also like to start a newsletter with that same goal.
Next month in Paris we’re running our very first stock photography expedition in a chateau in Normandy which will surely provide inspiration for our first newsletter dispatch.
If you’re interested in signing up to receive it, you can be one of my first subscribers here.
I plan to send out stock tips, progress reports, cool services I find, any shortcuts I stumble into along the way, success stories, and more.
Plus, since I know some of the very best stock experts through my work here in the Travel Division... folks like Shelly Perry, Jani Bryson, Holger Mette, and Lise Gagne... I plan to pick their brains and share with you whatever I learn. (We’ll offer this newsletter for free, by the way, and you’ll get it once a week. Just remember that the first issue won’t arrive till next month when I’m in Paris.)
In the meantime, I’m going to post about my progress on the Breakfast Stock Club Facebook page, and I encourage you to do the same. Come by and add me as a friend if you want to sell stock photos this year.
And if you’d like to sign up for the free Breakfast Stock Club newsletter I’m starting in May, you can do that here.
Professional stock photographer Shelly Perry has already joined and she’s agreed to record a teleconference with me about submitting photos to online stock photo agencies that I can offer for free to all our first subscribers.
So stop by the Facebook page (again, that’s Breakfast StockClub) and leave a comment... share your goals, etc. Then sign up for my new, free, weekly newsletter.
Let’s get our butts in gear and see about this breakfast thing.

P.S. While we’re on the subject of stock photography (and how to get started in stock), I thought I’d pass along some links to my two favorite stock photography guides...
If you’re trying to build your photography career while working full-time at another job, I highly recommend the Lazy Man’s Guide to Stock Photography. I’ll be using this guide almost exclusively to grow my portfolio.
I’ll also use the online video tutorials in the new Turn Your Pictures into Cash program when it comes time to process my images. You can get both of these guides on sale this week only, on our website.
