How to Find Your Photos Online

One of my stock photos was published in National Geographic!

Well... sort of.

I found it here in the online edition of Polish National Geographic. It’s a photo I took of Smith Rock State Park, a few hours from my home in Oregon.

Using Google’s Image Search, you can look up your stock photos and see where they’re being used online. It’s a thrill when you find them!

Watch this short video to see how it works:

Haven’t uploaded any of your photos for sale in stock sites, yet? Don’t fret... I have something in store for you very soon. A special tool to launch you into the stock photo world once and for all!

I found a few Breakfast Stock Club readers’ stock photos online using Google Image search, too, and posted the links on the Breakfast StockClub Facebook Page, here.

And in other news from the Facebook page...

From Kim Coffey: Ok... going to jump! Any suggestions on 3 agencies to start with? Suggestions, tips, ideas, etc. all appreciated! Thank you!!

I sent Kim here:

And readers are still going for the 2,000 photo challenge! This was the challenge I gave you a couple of weeks ago.  Take 2,000 photos this month if for no other reason than to practice getting your camera out every day. It’s fun. And taking good pictures is half the battle. We can’t sell photos we never take. So join me. Here’s what I’ve heard from a few members on their way...

From Deborah Kolb: On my way to 2,000 clicks this month... uploaded to Shutterstock Monday and had an acceptance and sale within a few days! So much more gratifying than the time it takes iStock to accept or reject images. Here is my handsome awesome son!

From Jo Sommers: I have gone past the 1,500 mark with a little over a week to go.

    Hi Bonnie!
A participant of the Portland Workshop here! I don't have a Facebook account, so I'm replying this way. I took to heart the advice of many experts (including you) to increase the number of pictures you take. Imagine my surprise, though, when, after downloading one day's shots to Lightroom last week, the number 478 came up! I've added 2166 photos since the beginning of the challenge, not including the 156 in the camera from yesterday and today. They're not all stock-ready, but this is the first time I've used my camera in manual, and it comes naturally now. Next, I'm going to try your method for computing the clicks on my camera.
