American Profile
A weekly, four-color magazine that celebrates hometown American
life. They contract with professional photographers throughout the
United States. To be considered for assignments, you are required to

Dog Fancy
A magazine for dog owners and enthusiasts. They welcome
submissions for all dog breeds, in every facet of life: running,
jumping, napping, playing, training, hugging, eating, walking, etc. In

I Love Cats
A bi-monthly general interest magazine for the entire family.
Possible cover shots may have props in them, but the cat must dominate

Has a particular interest in national and state parks, historic
places, cities, little-known or undiscovered places, train trips,
cruises, and driving trips.

Publishes photographs pertaining to the natural world and the
environment. They review photographers? stock lists and samples, and

Contains the latest news on the equipment, events, techniques,
people, and places of parachuting. They are looking for all kinds of
images, as long as they relate to parachuting or parachutists in some

Smithsonian Magazine
Obtains the majority of its photographs from assignments given
to freelance photographers. While they do not circulate lists of future
