Stock Photography Success Stories

What are your stock photo plans this weekend?

Breakfast Stock Clubbers are sharing their goals and successes on our Facebook Page (find it by searching for Breakfast StockClub).

If you’re not on Facebook, don’t worry. I’ve pasted in a few success stories we’ve received so far in this issue.

Take a look at what a few of your fellow members have reported:

"I just wanted to let you know that I'm on 4 stock sites now -- Snapixel, Fotolia, Dreamstime, and BigStock. I've signed up for iStock, but haven't done the test yet, so will try to get that finished in the next couple of days. I've just been so busy with other things, but will work on it soon. Anyway, I'm sooo glad I FINALLY took the plunge." -- Lynn M.

"Ok, I sold my first picture on iStock, I am excited!" -- Mindy C.

"Application submitted, now the waiting begins… " -- Kim C.

"I just signed up on iStock, now I just need to submit some photos and see if I get accepted."
-- Jeff K.

"We're going to do a submission this weekend and every week from now through July."
-- Riley C.

It’s easier than it seems to get started. In my case, I literally hesitated for years, and just last month decided to start. A few weeks later, I’d sold my first few shots on Fotolia. It’s exciting.

My next step is to build my portfolio and sell more. I’m still in Paris, so I’ll be shooting photos like mad this weekend. I’ll share a few on the Facebook page once I get home and settled in again.

If you have an extra day off this Memorial Day, why not take some time to get your stock photo portfolio up and running? Or, if you’re already running… add some new photos to your sites or sign up for a new site. All you need is a few hours to take that next step closer to your goal.

Looking for a place to submit your photos? Try one of the three top stock agencies we mentioned in The Right Way to Travel e-letter.

If you want to do it, now’s the time… sign up for a few agencies this weekend. In coming weeks, we’ll hear from more successful stock photographers and also talk about the quickest ways to get accepted into agencies and sell more.

Have a great weekend!
