Holiday Tip #10: Another use for old bread tags

Dear Photographer,

Yesterday I sent you a quick tip about buying duplicate power cords and batteries and keeping them in your travel suitcase.  Holiday tip #10, however, is about keeping all those cords organized.

Do you ever get lost behind your desk? I do.

Ever get on the phone with your cable company and have the guy on the other line tell you to first unplug your router, then your cable modem, then your computer, and then plug them all back in in the order in which you unplugged them… only to look at your surge protector and wonder how you’re going to figure out which cord belongs to which item?

Well, recently, someone gave me an idea that fixes all that and transforms a jungle of cords into a highly organized and functional area. And it involves old bread tags.

Bread tags, it turns out, make great cord labels behind your desk, behind your TV – wherever you need them!

Here is a picture of my newly-labeled cords on the floor:

And these behind my desk:

Whether you’re a photographer, a travel writer, or both, you can organize your work space with these affordable labels. They won’t peel off like stickers will, and are much sturdier than a paper tag.

Enjoy!
